Les Houches
Les Houches is an ideal place for a skiing holiday. It has access to 6 ski areas all within 30 minutes drive,Chamonix is 10 minutes and the Italian resort of Coumeyer is less than 30 minutes.For this reason a car is a must if you want to explore what is available in this region.

Les Houches is a picturesque french ski village and an ideal family resort, with skiing available for all levels from young children to the advanced skier.Resting at the foot of Mont-Blanc our skiing domain has no equal…Skiing in Les Houches combines long desecnts through pine and larch forests within view of the spectacular peaks of the "Aiguilles de Chamonix".

Not surprisingly it is the location of regular international events and serves as the training ground for the French National Ski Team. By yourself or with the local ski schools, you will discover a varied choice of pistes for : downhill, cross-country, surf, telemark or ski-jumping. It’s all here !

To enjoy the different mountain activities such as off-piste, don’t hesitate to hire a mountain or trekking guide.

After skiing Les Houches also offers an adventure playground for the kids and a varied range of bars and restaurants for the rest of us..


Chamonix
Is a village not just a ski resort so there is lots to do if you decide to have a day off the slopes. A wide variety of shops,cafes and restaurants makes this a busy village all year round.

After dark Chamonix has a great range of lively bars and both traditional french and international restaurants.

Skiing
Les Houches is well placed in the Chamonix valley and gives easy access to all the stations, Brevent, Le Flegere, Argentiere, le Tour, the famous Aguille du Midi and of course, Les Houches itself.

Due to the spread of the 5 main stations it is recommended you have a car during your stay.

Les Houches skiing area
The domain of Les Houches extends from an altitude of 950m to 1900m. From the summit one has a spectacular 360° view of the Mont-Blanc massive. And with pistes meandering through the forests, you will discover the real pleasures of skiing.

- 12 red runs
- 5 blue runs
- 4 green runs

Equipped with :
- 1 cable car
- 1 bubble lift
- 4 chair lifts
- 12 drag lifts

When necessary, artificial snow coverage is assured by 67 snow canons covering 19 hectares.
The "Tourchet" piste offers nocturnal skiing every Thursday.
The opening dates are from the 1st December to the 21st April 2003 (following snow conditions).
